A Message from Bob Murch, Managing Partner of Central Ohio Business Advisors
MY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE CAN HELP GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE NEXT PHASE OF YOUR COMPANY'S GROWTH.

Experience

My career started at a large retailer in Columbus where, for five years, I was in charge of financial reporting and analysis. After receiving my MBA, I joined RPA/Fitch, a 150-person retail design firm where I was CFO and one of five managing partners for the company. After eight years of service, we successfully sold the company to a multi-billion-dollar global company. Following the sale, I began to interview with a variety of companies. I enjoyed my experiences in meeting the various professionals at these companies but, as I listened to the management personnel at some of the smaller to mid-sized companies, it became clear that the process they had gone through to approve a CFO position was lengthy, and there still wasn’t a great deal of buy-in that a full-time position was what they needed. During one of these interviews, I explained to the CEO that perhaps a part-time solution would make sense—kind of a "try it before you buy it" scenario. It was an appealing option to the CEO because he gained a sense of freedom in not having to invest in a long-term commitment. After six years, I am still doing work for that same company, and I have worked anywhere from five to forty hours a week during that time period. I established Central Ohio Business Advisors with the idea that there is a need for someone with my background on more of an as-needed basis. I have been consulting for over six years with companies ranging from 15 to 750 people, $2 million to $55 million in revenues, and in a diversity of industries from furniture to computer consulting.
